Introductie
Birthday lijkt op het progamma Jarig, maar u kunt in Birthday de meldingen vertalen, b.v. naar het Fries. Het programma meldt wanneer iemand jarig is. Het begint ruim vooraf te waarschuwen, zodat u de tijd hebt om een cadeautje te kopen! Het aantal dagen vooraf kunt u instellen van één tot 30 dagen.
Birthday herinnert u ook aan jubilea, overlijdensdatums of dingen om te doen. Het draait onder Windows 7, 8, 10 en 11.
De Demo-versie is gratis te downloaden en werkt volledig gedurende 30 dagen.

Beschrijving
Bij het opstarten van de computer wordt Birthday gestart.
U ziet nu de verjaardagen binnen een instelbare periode. Komende verjaardagen kunnen tot 30 dagen van te voren worden gemeld, verjaardagen, die geweest zijn kunt u tot 10 dagen terug zien.
U kunt de woorden en hun volgorde, in de meldingen aanpassen.
Ook kunt u een timer aanzetten, die de meldingen een in te stellen tijd laat zien.
Om de interface zo eenvoudig mogelijk te houden zijn knoppen gebruikt,
inplaats van menu's.Deze knoppen zitten aan de bovenkant van het programma.

Het gegevensbestand met alle verjaardagen heet standaard "Birthday.dat". Birthday leest dit bestand automatisch bij het opstarten.
Gebruik de Leesknop om een ander bestand in te lezen.
Wijzig
Wilt u een verjaardag wijzigen of toevoegen, klik dan op de Wijzig-knop. het wijzigvenster verschijnt, waarin u de verjaardagen kunt aanpassen.
Bewaar
Klik op de Bwaarknop om de wijzigingen te bewaren. Dit kan alleen als er iets is gewijzigd.
Backup
Klik op de Backup-knop om een backup van de Birthday-gegevens te maken.
Instellingen
Klik de knop Instellingen om het Instellingen-venster te tonen. In dit venster staan de secties:
Bepaal de manier, waarop Birthday start.
"Date Format"
Bepaal het datumformaat, bv. "Jaar-Maand-Dag" toont 2008-03-24 voor 24 maart 2008.
"Timer"
Hier kunt u de Timer aanzetten. Als de timer is ingeschakeld, dan skuit Birthday zich na een ingestelde tijd af.
"Tijdvenster"
Select the number of days after the event the message is given. The range spans from 1 till 10 days.

"Sorting by..."
Select here the default sorting method.
"Update"
Preferable is to check this item. So you will be notified of updates. To check for updates manually click the "Download Now" Button.
Vertaling
The first window of the translate procedure is the Word Order window. Here you can change the order of the words in the messages.
To change the order of the words in the message click one of the green words and replace it by selecting another word from the pull down list.
#Name = the name of the person
#Period = the number of days
#Age = the age of the person
"-" = invisible in the message.
In the lower part of the window you can inspect the results of your changes.
Vertaling
Click the Translate button in the "Word order" window to translate the messages to your favorite language, then correct the word order if needed.
Informatie
Click the Information Button to show the Information menu. It has two items:

"About"
Click this item to get information about the program and the author.
Click the Register Button in the about window to start the registration process.
Einde
Click the Exit Button to end the program. For your safety a window appears where you can save the changes, discard them or return to the program.
N.b. this window is only visible if the data have been changed.
Conclusie
The demo of the program Birthday is freely available. If you like it please register the program. For only US$ 10,- you get a fully functional program and you will be notified of updates and bug fixes. You can always download the latest version enjoying most of your registration. The small fee for registration enables me to continue improving the program.

- Click Download and check "Open".
- Click "OK" and the download starts. After downloading the program will be installed on your computer. Follow the directions in the installation program.
Second method: (download and save)
Use this method if you want to install Birthday on a second computer or give the demo to your friends.- Click Download and check "Save as...".
- Enter e.g. "c:\Temp" as destination.
- Click "OK" and downloading starts. The file "brth234.exe" will now be saved to the directory "c:\Temp".
Installation
Installing the program is very simple too. Assuming the downloaded file has been saved in "c:\Temp" then:
- Click "Start | Execute".
- Enter "c:\Temp\brth234.exe".
- Click OK.
